DIY Christmas Decorations

With Christmas around the corner, that means Christmas decorations will be going up. I love decorating for Christmas. Just ask my husband and kids. I always get the itch to decorate right after Halloween, but my husband likes to wait until the day after Thanksgiving. So I have compromised with him and have agreed to wait until the day after Thanksgiving to start decorating for Christmas.

Since I love decorating for Christmas, I tend to turn to DIY (do it yourself) Christmas decorations. I think DIY Christmas decorations add just the perfect touch to all the Christmas decorations. In this post, I will show you two of my DIY decorations. I got the inspiration from things I have seen on Pinterest and social media.

1. Ornaments in a Vase

I am sure there are other names for this DIY decorations, but I have titled mine ornaments in a vase. This DIY is so very simple and inexpensive. All you need is a vase and some ornaments. I got my vases at the Dollar Tree. That's right, a vase for just $1!! The ornaments I got from Dollar Tree as well. All you do is fill the vase up with ornaments and you have yourself a gorgeous Christmas decoration. I have two vases of ornaments, one with silver ornaments and one with gold ornaments. You can use any color ornaments you want and you can get any size vase you want. Dollar Tree has a variety of different sized vases for this DIY project.

2. Vase of Christmas Flowers

This next DIY Christmas decoration is just a simple vase of Christmas themed/colors of Christmas flowers. Again, I got all my materials at the Dollar Tree. Dollar Tree has a wide range of silk flowers. They are all really beautiful. Dollar Tree has their poinsettias out this time of year as well as other Christmas themed flowers. For the two vases of flowers that I have I used poinsettias, red mums, and white wildflowers. One of my vase has decorative marbles in it which were bought at Dollar Tree. I love that you can take such inexpensive items and turn them into a very beautiful Christmas decoration.

Here is the completed look. In our new house, I have a lot of top cabinet space so that is where I have this beautiful decorations on display.

I hope you enjoyed this DIY Christmas decorations post. Do you have your own DIY projects that you do? If so, share in the comments. If you liked my post, I would love for you to share it. Let me know what you think of these Christmas decorations in the comments.

  6. I love Christmas too, but have to wait a little bit. Since we got married in the first week of December, it has become our official start to decorating. I love adding extra ornaments to vases as well and sticking them in as fillers on the tree. Merry Christmas!
