Summer Has Kicked Off

It has been a little bit since I last blogged. Summer is in full swing around here. We do our best to get outside before it gets too hot so I can get the boys nice and tired for their afternoon naps. Getting fresh air helps us all in so many ways.

When it is too hot to go outside, we paint and work on crafts and we work on learning letters and writing (mainly with Logan who has less than two months before Kindergarten). There have been says where we are lazy, but that is okay because it is summer. Rob is still in the process of finding a job and since he is home, we have just enjoyed being together as a family.

As frustrating and stressful as it is with Rob not having a job, the family time we have had is truly wonderful. I often have wondered if God's plan for right now, in this moment, is to enjoy our time with Rob before he finds a job. The boys have been getting a lot of Daddy time which is really good for them. I believe, we are going through a fire, so to speak, and our family is being refined by God to make our faith so much stronger.

We are trusting God, like I have written and expressed in previous posts. In my quiet times with God, I have been listening for His voice and he speaks to me through Bible verses that are fitting for this time in our lives. This is another reason I didn't blog last week. I was reading God's word and listening for His voice.

If you are going through something rough, just remember there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Give it to God and trust Him. Since this is the same advice I'm following, I will say there will be days when it is easier said than done. This isn't first time I've been through a rough spot and I can say, once you get to the light at the end of the tunnel, the waiting was worth it.

This summer will be full of faith, hope, and love.

Here are pictures from my phone from the past week of my boys and some verses that have helped me so much in this past week.

  8. Times of unemployment are tough and when they go on for a long period of time... really testing. Your comment, " I often have wondered if God's plan for right now, in this moment, is to enjoy our time with Rob before he finds a job," rings true. I believe that Jesus is honored and delighted when we chose to trust Him in the midst of our suffering. Blessings as you continue to wait on Him!
