Song Writing

I am taking a break from writing about my kids to write about something I used to do. To relieve my stress I would write songs. All the songs I have written do not have music to them. I hope to one day get music to get my songs. I had written a song based off my mom's life (which I shared about a few posts ago). I wanted to share the song on here as well. I hope to be able to share more songs on this blog as well. For some reason, this one is just so heavy on my heart. So here it is.

Working Title: Her Story
She smells the breakfast from downstairs,
She wonders what everybody else thinks.
Being judged is something that scares her,
She can tell that there is tension in the air.
Saying a prayer she just keeps walking on by.

Opening her eyes she sees the sunlight shining through,
The mountain of trees is covered in snow,
She hears the sound of old beat up trucks.
And she knows this is just another morning for her,
That she has to get up and get on track with life.

She is running around with thoughts in her head.
She doesn’t understand why people can’t just accept her.
Doesn’t the Bible say not to judge,
But she is just not so sure anymore.
Saying a prayer she just keeps walking on by.

Opening her eyes she sees the sunlight shining through,
The mountain of trees is covered in snow,
She hears the sound of old beat up trucks.
And she knows this is just another morning for her,
That she has to get up and get on track with life.

All she wants to do is make them proud,
Knowing they don't have much time left in this life.
She wants to owe them for all they have done.
So she gets down on her knees and prays
And she opens her eyes and sees their smiling faces.
With the sunlight shining through
She is welcomed with open arms.

Opening her eyes she sees the sunlight shining through,
The mountain of trees is covered in snow,
She hears the sound of old beat up trucks.
And she knows this is just another morning for her,
That she has to get up and get on track with life.
